About the TopicThe tools that we choose to fill our toolbox can make or break our
success as Project Managers. Additionally they dictate the success and
efficiency of the project and team. A common misconception is that
Microsoft Project is the staple of the PM’s toolbox and constitutes the
project plan. While it is decent for scheduling it falls short of the
numerous other aspects involved in developing and executing a detailed
project plan. This session is designed to highlight various tools and
techniques used to manage several high profile projects. We will walk
through 2 specific real world examples where projects were delivered on
time and under budget all without the use of MS Project. About the Presenter Brandon
has been involved in leading Projects and Programs within the high tech
industry for over 10 years for Companies such as StateWare, EgSoft,
ElectroGlas, and Symantec. During this time he has lead Domestic and
Global teams for the successful delivery of multiple projects including
Mergers and Acquisitions Integrations, Infrastructure upgrades and new
system roll outs as well as new Application deployments and
maintenance. He is currently employed as a Project Manager at Garage
Games where he manages strategic projects for the Instant Action online
gaming platform. Brandon has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer
Science from Oregon State University and is certified as a Project
Management Professional PMP through the Project Management Institute.
His interest and specializations include Complexity and Decision
Analysis specifically focusing on optimization and efficiency of
complex environments and situations, Risk Analysis and Management,
Strategic Planning, as well as IT Operations and Systems Integration. |
