The Corvallis Branch of the Willamette Valley Chapter of the Project Management Institute elected the following officers for the 2009 year. Paul Newbry, PMP
President Elected Branch President in June, 2009 after serving as VP Finance, Paul has 25 years of experience in IT services and support including managing people and projects. He obtained his PMP in 2007 and does not wish that certification test on anyone. He earned a Masters in Management from Antioch University in Seattle while working for Hewlett-Packard in Corvallis. He currently provides technical support for the Benton County Circuit Court located in downtown Corvallis. His undergraduate work was first in Wildlife Management (Humboldt State University, Arcata CA) and then in Electrical Engineering (University of Alaska, Fairbanks AK). He enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and twin boys who will graduate from high school in 2010.
Randy Lloyd, PMP VP of Marketing Recently appointed as Corvallis Chapter VP of Membership and Communications, Randy has 20 years of expertise in Project and Product Management. He held the position of Senior Project Manager at ATS Systems Oregon (industrial automation), where he focused on BioTech and Pharmaceutical applications. He completed his PMI Certification in 2006 while working at ATS. His Masters of Software Engineering (Oregon State University, Corvallis, Oregon) was obtained while working at Electro Scientific Industries in Portland and he holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology (Illinois State University, Normal, Illinois). His background is in laser electronics, semiconductor, and automation industries, specializing in new product development and project life-cycle management. Moving to Oregon in 1995, he misses his Illinois home and great Chicago pizza, but has quickly learned to love the majesty of the Pacific-Northwest. He enjoys the outdoors with his wife and three children and has given back to the community as a BSA Scoutmaster. Paul Schlegelmann, PMP
VP of Programs Paul was appointed to the Corvallis PMI Branch Board in March 2009 as the co-VP of Education. He has 20 years of world-wide project and program management experience and 3 years as PMP certified. Paul worked at Hewlett-Packard for over 25 years as a program and project manager, IT Manager, R&D software manager, and R&D software engineer. Paul has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from North Carolina State University. He is currently enjoying one of his most challenging projects staying at home to help raise a young daughter and young son. Paul is also active on another Board of Directors (local PTA) as Treasurer.
Molly Williams, PMP
Director of Programs
Molly was appointed to the Corvallis Branch in March 2009 as the co-VP of Programs. She has 7 years of project management experience focusing primarily in software development projects. Prior to moving to Corvallis in 2006 she lived in Bend where she assisted in organizing and facilitating the Central Oregon Project Management Roundtable meetings.
Molly has her undergraduate degree from Oregon State University from the College of Business in Hotel, Restaurant Management. She completed her MBA at Oregon State University while employed at Hewlett-Packard as a Financial Analyst. Molly is currently enjoying her best and most challenging project as she stays home with her two young daughters and watches them grow up way too fast!
John Powell, PMP
VP of Communications & Membership John was elected as branch VP of Communication & Membership in December of 2009. John has managed projects and programs for the past 15 years while working in the high tech manufacturing and health care industries. He is currently a Sr. Project Manager for Samaritan Health Services in Corvallis. John earned his undergraduate degree from the Colorado College in Colorado Springs and pursued an MBA from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.
John enjoys training for and competing in triathlons, cross country skiing, hiking and camping with his family. Gary Terrell, PMP
VP of Education and Professional Development Elected VP of Education and Professional Development in December 2009, Gary has 7 years project management experience. Gary has worked for Hewlett-Packard for over 22 years in several locations and several positions. He is currently a Business Operations Manager in the Technology Development Organization in Corvallis. In 2007-08 Gary represented HP as an assignee to SEMATECH/ISMI an international consortium in Austin, Texas where he received his PMP certification. Gary holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Information Systems from Linfield College but has spent most of his career in maintenance of hardware systems. Gary is a Desert Storm veteran and retired from the Oregon Army National Guard in 2002 after 20 years of service.
Gary lives in Albany’s historic district with his wife and two middle-school aged sons. When he is not restoring his old house he enjoys, fishing, camping and home brewing. He is also a registered Boy Scout leader. |
